Castellammare

Pacific Palisades, CA

2025

A ground-up Spanish Revival home perched above the Pacific, the Castellammare Residence was designed around two organizing ideas: the threshold and the view.

The entry courtyard creates a moment of deliberate separation from the street, framed in stained glass panels of pale blue that filter light into something cool and oceanic. The courtyard dissolves the boundary between inside and out, setting the tone for a home that moves fluidly between shelter and landscape.

Inside, the architecture is grounded in materiality and craft. Wide plank oak floors run throughout, lending warmth and continuity across the 2,000 square feet. The library and office occupy one of the home's most quietly exceptional spaces. Bathed in natural light, it functions equally well as a place of focused work and unhurried reading.Throughout, the ocean is a constant presence.
